... C'mon Skunk, take it easy, now ... we already have ONE 'coup' goin on the forums ... That's not what I said nor was it what I was implying, & I think you know better than that ... only that I feel DW or Novak would've played that one tune "7 Days" w/ a better approach... I know, "well, maybe it was just a new & diff. 'enterpretation' of the tune"... but it didn't even come close - 1/4 notes on a semi-washy HH thru the tune?! it just didn't have the subleties & nuances it shouldve - he didn't havta throw in all the VC trix, necessarily, but just try to make it sound somewhat like the tune was supposed to be in the 1st place - but remember, that's just MY OPINION ...no bag on Manu, necessarily...I really dug some of his earlier stuff w/ Sting, & ESP. w/ Peter Gabriel ... see? I like Manu, too ...
OK, now this brings me to your last statement - lil sarcasm there? This is not what I meant at all, & it would simply be ludricrous for DW to have Sting "stop singing & let Dave solo for 5 min. in every tune" ... c'mon, dude, give us a break....

I would love to see Weckl on that gig. I've always thought that would be really interesting to hear. Dave can play aggressively when he wants to. I wonder if he's ever gotten an offer to audition.

Yeah ... man, I'm tellin ya, ol' Dave would absolutely drive that groove up Sting & the band's butt [no disrespect to Gordy]; I bet he would prob. slam-dunk that gig as hard as Vinnie.

I saw Sting on that tour and I've seen the DVD. I like Manu's stuff with Gabriel but I found his playing with Sting boring. Actually. I think the whole band lacked energy. Especially compared to the last tour with Vinnie and Kenny Kirkland.
